The rich tradition in the treatment of various forms of illnesses by using natural mineral waters, was completed later by the Turks and Austrougars, who built objects in these localities that are still part of the spa-recreational complex.
Thermal mineral water sources, with the depth of about 1,000 to 3,000 m and the temperature between 80 ° and 150 °, are now located at over 200 sites throughout Srpska. It is used for the treatment of rheumatic, neurological, orthopaedic, gynecological, geriatric and respiratory diseases, as well as for post-traumatic and postoperative conditions.
In the 16th century century, while the construction of a well-known Višegrad bridge was in progress, on Drina Ćuprija, the builders were digging stone to build the bridge, and they accidentally discovered an abundance of thermal springs.
