“Željeznice Republika Srpska” (ŽRS) today shipped the first quantities of 950 tons of coal from Prijedor on the route Dobrljin-Velenje-Pesje in Slovenia, out of a total of 100,000 tons contracted until the end of this year.
The coal will be transported in cooperation with two other national operators, the company for public transport of cargo in domestic and international rail and combined traffic HŽ cargo from Croatia and Slovenian Railways – Freight traffic from Slovenia, ŽRS announced.
Željko Radić, Acting General Director of “Zeljeznica Republika Srpska” stated that until the end of the current year, coal transport from Republika Srpska to Slovenia will be dispatched by “Zeljeznica Srpska”.
“The plan defines that new quantities of coal for Slovenia in the coming year 2023, a total of 400,000 tons, will be distributed quarterly, out of 100,000 tons transported per quarter,” said Radić.
