Mayor of Prijedor, Slobodan Јavor, discussed with a delegation from the Chinese company “China International Group” on December 15, 2023. This Chinese company will build wastewater treatment plants in ten cities in the Republic of Srpska, based on a signed memorandum between the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the Chinese company, pertaining to the project of constructing wastewater treatment plants.
Prijedor has been selected as the first of ten cities in the Republic of Srpska where the implementation of this project will commence. – At the meeting, it was agreed to send a Letter of Intent to Chinese investors, as the first step and evidence of readiness for all capacities of this local community to be made available for the realization of this project – stated by the City Administration of Prijedor.
According to the Spatial Plan Draft of the City of Prijedor for the period 2020-2040, the installation of wastewater treatment plants is planned, as presented to the delegation from China.
The meeting expressed a joint commitment to further development and improvement of this area, and the next steps towards achieving the ultimate goal were specified. This meeting is a continuation of discussions held during the recent visit of the delegation from the Republic of Srpska to the People’s Republic of China, which included the Mayor of Prijedor.
