It is expected that the agreement will lead to investments in energetics in the Republic of Srpska, especially in the area of hydropower, which will be possible after the hydro potential studies are completed, and the construction models for new facilities are defined.
The signatories to the agreement expressed their readiness to explore the possibilities for implementing projects related to solar energy and wind energy.
Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska, Petar Djokic, signed the agreement on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Srpska. He pointed out that the Government supported the initiative to continue the cooperation with these investors considering the years of experience they have in the field of renewable energy, and previous investments of these companies in the energy facilities construction at the territory of the Republic of Srpska.
Minister Djokic reminded the public that the companies “KI-Kelag International” and “Interenergo” have already successfully implemented three projects in the Republic of Srpska, and both companies are perceived as respectable investors. Through their subsidiary companies “EHE” and “LSB power plant” from Banja Luka, they have built three small hydropower plants, “Novakovic”, “Zapeće” and “Medna”, with a total investment value of around BAM 85 million.
Following the signing of the agreement, the investors expressed their gratitude to the RS Government for the successful cooperation and expressed their confidence and commitment to further enhance this business partnership through future projects.
