The municipality of Sekovici is categorized as one of the most underdeveloped municipalities in the Republic of Srpska, and the new industrial zones, that will offer tax reliefs and other benefits for interested investors, could generate much needed economic development and new employment.

Investors from Hungary already expressed their interest in doing business in the new industrial zone.

“A locality of Tisca village has already been determined as an area that meets all necessary conditions in terms of infrastructure. The land at this locality is owned by the public enterprise ‘Forests of the Republic of Srpska’ and we are close to making an agreement with the Government of the Republic of Srpska regarding the approval for
the usage of this site", said the mayor of Sekovici, Momir Ristic.

The local authorities plan to re-establish the production in two large companies – a marble factory and a factory for the production of paints and varnishes. These factories were abandoned for years after the production stopped due to the failed privatization and long litigation processes.

The municipality of Sekovici is currently highly underdeveloped, but this municipality has a significant potential for economic development that could lead to the improvement of living conditions in this area.
