The upcoming EXPO, scheduled to be held in Serbia in 2027, presents a significant opportunity for the entire region and a massive chance for companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Republika Srpska to participate in this major infrastructure project. This agreement was reached by Srđan Amidžić, the Minister of Finance and Treasury of the Council of Ministers of BiH, and Siniša Mali, the Finance Minister of Serbia.
Discussions also touched upon positive practices related to exempting the first real estate from value-added tax (VAT) and additional tax incentives.
“I am extremely pleased that Serbia will host the Expo in 2027, having won the competition against the United States, Argentina, and Spain. We see this as a personal success, and, of course, within this context, we will try to find a position for the Republika Srpska, as well as all the other countries in the region. This is an opportunity for them,” emphasized Srđan Amidžić, the Minister of Finance and Treasury of the Council of Ministers of BiH.
Siniša Mali, the Finance Minister of Serbia, highlighted the importance of regional cooperation.
“We are our own, we are united, and it is very important that we work together in the region, support each other, and share experiences. Apart from assisting in the refund of VAT for the first real estate, we have a few more ideas on how we can jointly influence fertility through tax policy,” Mali emphasized, as reported by RTRS.
