12.09.2022

The Republic of Srpska wants to have safe agricultural production, said the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, at the promotion of the Hungarian Government’s support program for the economy in the Republika Srpska.

“It is noble of Hungary to give us this opportunity. The greatest possible gratitude to the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban and his team”, said Dodik, reports RTRS.

Dodik pointed out that the world today is faced with many challenges that were not noticed until recently.

“But responsible governments such as the Government of Srpska and the Government of Hungary are actively working on solving the problem,” said Dodik.

Magyar: The goal is for farmers to become more competitive

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Levente Magyar, said today in Gradiška that agriculture is the basis for the country’s development, and that the goal of the Hungarian government’s support program for the  economy of Srpska is to modernize equipment for agricultural producers, so that they become more competitive on the market.

Magyar  pointed out that a sincere friendship was formed between Hungarians and Serbs in the past years, which was made concrete by this project.

“We wanted to express that friendship from our side with concrete things, and that is why we were open to the proposal of the Foundation for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Srpska ‘Progresus’ to start an economic development program in Srpska,” said Magyar, speaking in Gradiska at the promotion ceremony of the Hungarian Government’s support program for the economy in the Republic of Srpska, reports Srna.

He stated that the field of agriculture was chosen because it is the basis of the development and survival of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“In Hungary, we believe that the future of the country is based on the development of agriculture. By modernizing your equipment and production, in order to become more competitive, we express our respect to you, as well as our intention to provide support to BiH and Srpska to make this a prosperous region”, said Magyar.

The Director of the Foundation for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Srpska “Progressus” Andrea Jaglica expressed her satisfaction because farmers in Srpska showed great interest in this project.

“This indicates that this program is important for Serbia, that it is valuable and that it will succeed,” said Jaglica.

She thanked the President of Hungary, Katlin Novak, because she recognized the potential of Srpska, and with the realization of this project, gave her the chance to use it.

Jaglica also thanked the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, because he asked without reservation and with pride for the help of the Hungarian Government, knowing that this support comes to Srpska without conditions or political mortgages.

“Special thanks goes to the institutions of Srpska, which immediately recognized the importance of the project and made their capacities available, so that it could be realized,” Jaglica said.

Adzic: Hungarian support to the RS economy is of particular importance

The mayor of Gradiska, Zoran Adzic, said that the Hungarian government’s support program for the economy in the Republic of Srpska is of particular importance and pointed out that it would not have been realized without the commitment and improvement of relations between Srpska and Hungary.

“I am convinced that this program will represent an additional stimulus to the economy of the Republic of Srpska, but also to Gradiska, which in certain areas of agricultural production occupies leading positions in Srpska”, said Adžić, speaking in Gradiska at the promotion ceremony of the Hungarian Government’s support program for the economy in the Republic of Srpska.

He pointed to the fact that agricultural production is a key prerequisite for the sustainability and survival of rural areas, which are of particular importance for the overall development of a certain area.

Adzic said that for this and a number of other projects implemented for the benefit of the citizens of Srpska, he expresses his gratitude to the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republic of Srpska, Zeljka Cvijanovic, and the Government of Srpska.

He expressed his gratitude to the Government of Hungary and its President Viktor Orban and the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, for the agreement they have reached, which resulted by supporting the economy of the Republic of Srpska.

Adzic called on agricultural producers of Srpska to take advantage of the opportunity and under favorable conditions to renew mechanization and improve their production to contribute to the strengthening of the economy of the Republic of Srpska.

“Let this program mark the beginning of successful and friendly cooperation between the Republic of Srpska and Hungary and provide an additional impetus to the development of Hungary and the Republic of Srpska”, said Adzic.

Assistance to farmers in Republika Srpska is the first phase of support agreed last November by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik.

“The first project involves the allocation of grants to farmers in the Republic of Srpska up to 70 percent of subsidies for the purchase of mechanization, equipment and tools of Hungarian production, and farmers will have right to fund in the individual amount of 2,500 to 25,000 euros”, reports the media.
